🧡 A Gentle Reminder: You Matter, You Feel, You Know

Sometimes we all just need a little encouragement.

A moment to pause.

To be reminded of the truth of who we are.

As a therapist, as a mom, as a partner, as a friend, there are beliefs that I hold about each person – beliefs I hold for my clients, for my children, for my loved ones… and yes, for myself too.

These truths come up time and time again—in therapy sessions, in everyday conversations, and in quiet moments of reflection. And as I step away for the next six weeks or so, I wanted to leave you with these thoughts.

When you feel discouraged and alone, consider this a gentle companion you can return to—a reminder of the deep truths of who you are.

These are the truths I return to often—and I hope they speak to you, too.

These are the truths I return to often—and I hope they speak to you, too.

🌟 You Matter

First of all, you matter! You really do.

You have value just being you. You don’t have to do anything or become anyone to give you more value. You don’t need to earn it. You don’t have to prove it. You don’t need to achieve more or become someone else to be worthy.

You are enough—right here, right now. You are allowed to just be.And you are allowed to be you!

From this place of knowing that you matter, you can grow—Not to become someone different, but to become more fully the person you already are.

💬 Your Feelings Matter

Secondly, your feelings matter.

Emotions are communicators that give you information. They show up to tell you something about what you are experiencing in the moment.

Instead of judging them, what if you welcomed them?

What if you got curious?

What if you allowed them to help you make sense of your story?

You are allowed to feel.

And no one can tell you what you are feeling or what you should be feeling.Your experience is uniquely yours.

Allow emotions to communicate and give you information.

And then?

Move forward with the wisdom that comes from balancing both emotion and logic.

🧠 You Know Yourself Best

Here’s another truth I want you to remember: You know yourself best.

You are the expert on you. Other people may come alongside you with care, with insight, with support—and that’s a gift. But their insight doesn’t override your own understanding of your inner world.

So listen to your voice.

Let’s be honest—sometimes the loudest voices we hear are the critical ones. The ones that tear us down and make us second-guess ourselves.

But the voices that really help us grow? They speak with kindness. With gentleness. With grace.

They challenge us, yes—but never with shame.

💛 Be Your Own Encourager

Be your own wisest and most loving encourager. Lead yourself forward in growth with love.

And from that place—from that rooted sense of worth and self-awareness—live authentically.

Get curious about who you are.

What moves you?

What lights you up?

What brings your soul to life?

Then live into that truth—fully, boldly, freely.

📝 A Few Questions for Reflection

Before I sign off, I want to leave you with a few questions for reflection.

Maybe grab a journal or just sit with these quietly:

  1. Who are your sources of support?

Who are the people who really see you and encourage you to keep going?

  2. What inspires you—books, music, spaces, conversations?

Where do you go when your heart and soul need rest?

  3. What words of encouragement and kindness can you offer yourself today?

🌿 Take Gentle Care

Whatever you're walking through, honor what you need.

Keep taking good care of yourself—emotionally, physically, spiritually.

You matter.

You're not alone.

And you are enough.

Until next time...Take gentle care. 💛
